Volunteer Opportunities
The USC Alumni Club of Atlanta hosts activities to meet the interests of our diverse
membership. If you would like to take a more active role in the alumni club, please
contact us. There are numerous ways you can get more involved.
Official USC Visits
In the past year, the club has hosted faculty & dignitaries from the schools
of Gerontology, Education, The College, and USCAA. We need members willing to serve
as club ambassadors or “greeters” at special events held in conjunction with these
visits.
USC Admissions & Recruitment
The USC Admissions Office conducts regional presentations, often making 2 or 3 stops
in Atlanta annually. Alumni can volunteer to help at these events, checking in students
and answering parent & student questions.
Student SCendoff
Every summer, the club hosts incoming students and their families for an afternoon
celebration of USC spirit. The SCendoff provides those newest Trojans an opportunity
to meet and ask alumni and returning students about making the transition from high
school life to life at USCs. This event is held at a private home and we usually
need help the day of the event and with advance planning.
Scholarship Interviews
Each year our club awards scholarships to incoming & returning Trojans. Scholarship
interviews are conducted in spring by a “committee” of club alumni at a designated
office site. Scholarship winners are selected based on their potential contribution
to the Trojan Family.
Football Viewing Parties
We need spirited Trojans willing to “be the one in charge” at 2 or more viewing
parties during the season at Jocks & Jills. All you need to do is play the Fight
Song on our club boombox, make sure pompoms are put out on tables and put away after
the game, and be the club representative to Jock & Jills staff and to fellow
Trojans in attendance.
Social Events
The alumni club wants to offer events that can bring Trojans together. If you would
be interested in helping us organize an event group ticket purchase, group dinner
night or something fun and out of the ordinary, let us know.
Business Networking
We need volunteers to help us organize small and larger scale business networking
events.
